Here at Charter Tax we believe that life isn’t all about running a business, it’s also about giving back.   One of the things we love most is to have clients with philanthropic aims, who, like us, have built their business and now want to give back.

Play for Change

So, for clients of ours that what to set up their own charity, we will be very happy to undertake pro-bono work for the charity.  Indeed, one such charity is the charity Play For Change, that aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children through sport.

We also look each year for local community projects around our Kent office, in the communities where most of our staff live.  If you have any projects that you would like us to consider for support, then please do get in touch.

Twinkling StarsCharity of the Year

Our current Charity of the Year is the Twinkling Stars campaign (part of the East Kent Hospitals Charity) – which fundraised to create a Maternal Bereavement Suite at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

The Twinkling Stars Suite provides a safe haven, adjacent to the labour ward, for mothers who have lost their baby and a place where the family can spend time together to say goodbye. The room is situated within the Maternity Department, so mothers remain close to the medical team but away from families who are celebrating the birth of a baby.

While the suite is now in existence, it still needs charitable support to keep it looking as good as new and we are raising money to help with this, as well as fundraising to refresh the room where bereavement counselling takes place following the loss of a baby.
