Charter Tax was formed in 2009 by Janet Pierce (nee Paterson) and we have since grown to now having over 40 staff. David Page joined the Board of Directors in November 2018, Chris Page joined the Board of Directors in February 2022, Nicholas Hughes and Emma Cheeseman joined the Board of Directors in January 2023 and Charlie Goss joined the Board of Directors in March 2023.
Our experience extends through both private client and corporate work, though what we are really known for is our specialism in tax planning. We will never and have never sell tax “schemes” to clients but we do provide bespoke planning advice, particularly around international tax issues, corporate transactions, private wealth & estate planning and tax planning for the OMB.
Having grown our own business, we understand what it is to be an entrepreneur and the challenges of getting your own business structure right, and then preserving the wealth you have created. So, we bring with us not just our technical expertise but a hard-earned understanding of real life.
Our combined technical skills and understanding of the requirements of businesses mean that our services as an outsourced Finance Director , and the use of our team to become our clients’ outsourced Finance Department is particularly popular. We won’t just give you options and then hope for the best, we will help guide you through the decision making process and make a recommendation to you as if we were part of your in-house team.
