In the driving seat
Here at Charter Tax, we will be watching this weekend’s Sakhir Grand Prix with added interest, as one of our clients, Jack Aitken, will be taking part!
Jack, who is the reserve driver at Williams, will be replacing George Russell, who is taking Lewis Hamilton’s place in his Mercedes, after Hamilton tested positive for Covid-19, forcing him to withdraw from this weekend’s race in Bahrain.
This will be 25-year-old Jack’s F1 debut. He was a practice driver at the Styrian Grand Prix earlier this year, while he also competed in Formula 2 this season, earning two podiums and eight other points finishes. He finished fifth overall in F2 last season.
Jack told the BBC: "I'm absolutely over the moon to have the opportunity to make my debut with Williams this coming weekend and I am extremely happy for George to have his chance too. I really mean it when I say I've felt very much at home since I joined Williams earlier this year, so to get my chance to help the team try to achieve that elusive points finish is an extremely satisfying occasion to say the least."
We all wish Jack the very best of luck in car 89!
