herd of the hospice?

Kent Accountancy firm, Charter Tax helped Hospice in The Weald to raise over £100,000 for their recent campaign for “Herd of the Hospice?”

Back in July, Charter Tax sponsored a horse sculpture for the “Herd of the Hospice?” campaign. Conceived to raise awareness and vital funds for local charity Hospice in the Weald, the horses were decorated by Kent artists and displayed in and around Tunbridge Wells over the summer.

The horse sponsored by Charter Tax, named Charter, was designed by award-winning illustrator and caricaturist Chris Burke. During the campaign he, along with the rest of the 24-strong herd, travelled to Ascot and appeared on the BBC and ITV racing, garnering attention from the public and the media.

A fond farewell

On Wednesday 11 October, Charter was auctioned to raise further funds for the charity at Tunbridge Wells’ Royal Victoria Place.

Our Chairman, Mark Howard says: “We thoroughly enjoyed being part of this great campaign during the summer. We are very sorry that Charter is no longer ‘ours’, but we were proud ‘owners’ and sponsors for the duration of the campaign, and pleased to be part of an innovative, stimulating, colourful and ultimately very successful project. We wish Charter a long and happy retirement!”

Our thanks go to Chris Burke for Charter’s wonderful design, and to Emma Whittington and the team at Hospice in the Weald for the immense amount of time and energy they devoted to the project. We are delighted that our contribution helped Hospice in The Weald to raise over £100,000 of vital funds that will help to enable the hospice to continue its work.
